Views are the wrong scoreboard
A video with 500 views can have more authority than one with 50,000.
That sounds backwards if you grew up on view counts. It is not. Views measure attention. Authority measures whether the right person, or the right system, learned something specific about what you know.
What the 500-view video does
If the video answers a question your customer is actually asking, that is proof of what you know.
It also gives Google, YouTube, and AI search a lot more context about your authority. A clear answer to a real question is the kind of material those systems can read and connect to your name. A clip that entertains 50,000 strangers gives them nothing to attach.
Stop judging videos by views
You have to stop judging videos based on views and start judging them based on the authority they build.
The test is not how many people watched. The test is whether one of your customers could find it while asking the question, and whether AI could point to it when someone asks the same thing.
How to make the next video count
1. Start with a real question
Pull it from your sent folder, your calls, your reviews. The question a customer asked you last week is worth more than a trend.
2. Answer it directly, up front
No windup. Say the question, give the answer, then explain.
3. Put your name and your business on it
Title, description, and on screen. Authority that cannot be attributed is not authority.
4. Write it down somewhere AI can read it
Turn the answer into a page on your site with the video on it. That is what this Insight is. A video alone is a signal. A video with a written answer is a source.
5. Judge it in ninety days, not ninety minutes
Views spike and fade. Authority compounds. Check whether the question now returns you.
What this does not mean
It does not mean views are worthless. It means views are not the goal. A video can do both. Plenty do neither, because they were made for the scoreboard.
The decision
Make the next video for one customer's real question, not for the count. Then put it where AI can read it.

A video with 500 views can have more authority than one with 50,000. Oh my. If the video answers a question that your customer is asking, that's proof of what you know. Also, it gives Google YouTube an AI search much more context of your authority. You've got to stop judging videos based on views and start judging them based on the authority that they build. I'm Jeff Fargo and I can help you get found in AI search. Go forth.
