Stop Overthinking Your Business Content. Post It.

The number one content problem my clients have is overthinking the post. Your audience does not care about the stammer or the angle, so post it.

30+ YEARS DIGITAL STRATEGY

The number one content problem

The number one challenge my clients have with content is overthinking it. They overthink a lot before posting.

That is the whole diagnosis from this Fargo Walks clip, recorded in March 2026. The cure is short.

Your audience is not watching the way you think

Your audience is self-absorbed and self-consumed. That is not an insult. It is how people are.

They do not care if you stammer your words. They do not care if you screw something up. They do not care if the angle is not perfect, or whether it is the right side of your face. It does not matter.

The only person grading the take is you.

You got here by doing things right

You became successful by doing something right, or a bunch of things right. That is the credential. Not the lighting.

The version of you that runs the business is the version people want to hear from. A polished stranger is not more convincing.

Why this matters more than it used to

An answer you never post cannot be found. Not by a customer, not by Google, not by ChatGPT or Claude when someone asks who knows about your problem.

Scattered, hesitant publishing produces scattered, hesitant authority. The businesses that get named in AI answers are the ones whose expertise is visible and consistent. That starts with posting the answer, not perfecting it. I wrote about the authority side in Why AI Recommends Your Competitor When You Know More.

How to stop overthinking it

1. One question per post

Pick a question a customer actually asked you this week. Answer that. Nothing else.

2. One take

Record it once. If you stammer, keep going. The stammer is proof a person is talking.

3. Fix facts, not faces

Before you post, check the claim. If you cited a number, make sure it is right. Do not re-shoot for the angle.

4. Post inside the hour

The longer a recording sits, the more reasons you will find not to post it. Give yourself a window and hit it.

5. Judge it in thirty days

Not by views. By whether it answered a real question and whether it can be found. Then make the next one.

What this does not mean

It does not mean sloppy claims. Verify what you assert. It means stop confusing production polish with credibility. They are different things, and only one of them builds authority.

The decision

Stop overthinking your content. Answer the question, check the facts, and post it.

They don't care if the angle is not perfect, or it's the right side of your face and the right angle, it doesn't matter. You became successful from doing something right or a bunch of things right.
