What I changed in early 2026
What is the best AI platform for someone like you? That is the question I open this Fargo Walks clip with.
When ChatGPT dropped a few years ago, I was all over it. I used it all the time, for everything I do. I was a super user.
Then, about a month before I recorded this in March 2026, another platform came into my life, and it gave me my time back. Time to spend on personal stuff like my wife and kids, or time to work more.
What is that platform? I'm happily married, man, but I am all in on Claude.
That is the firsthand record, recorded in March 2026. It is a dated experience. It is not a permanent product ranking, and it should not be read as one.
Why the brand is the wrong thing to argue about
People ask which AI is better. For a business owner, that is the wrong question.
The right question is which tool produces the result the work requires, at a friction level you can live with, in the time you have.
When a tool stops giving you what you need, loyalty has a cost. You pay it in hours.
The decision rule I use now
When one model becomes the bottleneck, test the same task in another system.
Compare three things: the output, the friction, and the time it took.
Then keep the tool that wins for that job. Not for every job. That job.
That rule is why, by August 2026, my answer to the question of ChatGPT or Claude was both. I use different models for different parts of the work, and I move a task when the tool I am using becomes the limiting factor. I wrote that up in Why I Use Multiple LLMs in AI Agent Systems.
How to run the test on your own work
1. Pick the task that keeps stalling
Do not test on a toy prompt. Pick a real, recurring task where the current tool makes you re-prompt, re-edit, or start over.
2. Run the identical task in the other system
Same inputs. Same instructions. Same standard for what counts as done.
3. Score output, friction, and time
Was the result closer to done? How many corrections did it take? How long did the whole cycle take, including your review?
4. Decide for that task only
If the difference is meaningful and it repeats, move the task. If it is not, stay where you are and stop arguing about it.
5. Re-test when the tools change
These platforms change fast. A February result can be wrong by August. Keep the rule, not the verdict.
What this does not mean
It does not mean Claude beats ChatGPT. It does not mean you should cancel a subscription because I did. It does not mean the platform I use today is the one I will use next quarter.
It means the tool has to earn its place on your real work, and you have to check.
The decision
Stop asking which AI is best. Ask which tool produces the result your work requires, then test it against the task that is costing you the most time.
Loyalty is not a strategy. Results are.
